Have you ever started at a new school and things just didn’t feel right? 

Alyssa, is new to the town of Fairview, and starts as a senior in school.  Shortly after, she befriends the mean girls led by Reina that rule the hallways.  It turns out each girl has secrets that they are hiding. Reina is the leader, who is spoiled, and keeps the girls in line by any means necessary.  Candace comes from a well-loved family, but is secretly a cyber bully. Megan is the protector of the group, who has a boyfriend with a drug problem that she is afraid to emotionally connect with.  Olivia is daughter to the richest person in town, and does whatever she wants, and is secretly messing around with Reina’s boyfriend behind her back. 

Later, while only the mean girls are swimming at a pool party, they are struck by lightning in a near death accident.  Afterwards, the girls begin demonstrating telepathic abilities.  That’s when things start to get interesting.  Some of the powers they demonstrate are feeling emotions like grief and anger from others, projecting their thoughts on others, or inflicting pain through mental attacks.  The girls are able to read each other’s thoughts and start learning secrets about one another.  They also find out that they can attack one another with their minds.  Unfortunately, the more they use their powers the more unstable they become.

The girls start turning on one another, not knowing who they can trust.  While this is happening, Alyssa is trying to keep everyone together even though she doesn’t have any powers.  From there, things continue to spiral out of control when truths start coming out, leading to betrayal and a deadly fight for survival among the girls.  In the final confrontation, the girls realize nothing is what it seems.  Through flashbacks at the end, they discover that the new girl is not as she appears and was actually the only one with powers, indirectly responsible for all the bad things that happened at the school. 

Alyssa’s last words will haunt everyone.  She says “I’m not going to lie, ladies.  This is going to hurt you more than it will hurt me” and that’s when the mean girls’ screams starts…the end.

Set to be filmed in Las Cruces, New Mexico, School will be Tamara Hansen's directing debut and first feature, based on an original script written by Brady & Chris Gordon.
